Disciplinary Action (TREC)
The range of sanctions TREC may impose for a TRELA or rule violation, from a fine or reprimand to suspension or revocation.
When a license holder violates TRELA or the TREC Rules, TREC may take disciplinary action. Sanctions range from an administrative penalty or reprimand to probation, suspension, or revocation of the license, and may include a referral for criminal prosecution of unlicensed activity.
A license holder who disputes the facts may request a hearing, which TREC may refer to the State Office of Administrative Hearings. A license holder who agrees may resolve a matter informally rather than proceed to a contested hearing.
